About
Samina Elyasi is a multidisciplinary visual artist whose practice moves between the stage and the street. As a theater photographer she chases the fleeting gesture under stage light; as a designer she distills a whole play into a single poster.
In her photo montages, portraits from the history of painting are set into the glazed tilework of Iranian architecture — a quiet conversation between East and West, past and present. Her social documentation turns the same attentive eye toward everyday life and the faces that carry it.
Her work has accompanied numerous stage productions and festivals, including poster and brochure design for national and international theater events.
